She recently was honored to join a group of her respected mentors as an adjunct professor teaching about the profundity of therapeutic and educational interventions with children in the hospital setting. Melissa has experience working at Loma Linda Children’s Hospital as a Certified Child Life Specialist, connecting with children and their families coping with illness and grief. Since grad school she has gained a broad range of experience, including, developing relationships through play-based therapy with kids that have a diagnosis of autism, and working as a Display Coordinator for Anthropologie. Most importantly, she is a proud wife and doting mama of two beautiful children, both caught at home by their Papa, guided by the transformative loving support of a midwife. All of her academic, professional, and personal experience has been formative in her decision to build Art Remedies as a means to fuse two of her greatest passions, connecting with people and making art.
